General Information:
The Office of Alumni Relations is seeking an outstanding student to assist in designing for print and web projects. The student assistant must be detailed-oriented willing to work in a team atmosphere and have the ability to be creative while working within the parameters of the JMU brand.
The Student Graphic Design Assistant must be available to work 12 hours per week (to be determined based on availability) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday within the Leeolou Alumni Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Create designs using the Adobe Suite that can be used across multiple platforms including print video web and social media
Assist in generating content for use on the offices digital platforms including Instagram Facebook LinkedIn and the Website
Attend key events to capture photos and video content for marketing and outreach
Maintain and update the content on the departmental website. This includes cropping images writing small chunks of copy and following the workflow.
Work on a deadline to ensure the timely delivery of creative pieces
Create other graphic projects as needed by the office
Qualifications:
Current JMU student
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Proficient in Adobe InDesign Illustrator and Photoshop
Knowledge of AP style
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Effective time management task organization and prioritization skills
Able to work within the JMUAA brand and identify

Students must be degree-seeking students enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
