JOB DESCRIPTION
Van Acker Construction (VAC) is looking for a Project Engineer (PE) to join our growing team to support the construction of complex high-end residential projects.
As Construction Managers and General Contractors Van Acker Construction (VAC) is the firm with overall responsibility for all activities on the project. The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Project Management Design and Site Teams in the organization of design and other construction documents RFIs and coordination of other information necessary to build high-quality homes.
This is a field position. Work will be performed at a San Francisco job site.
JOB DUTIES
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain project documents including distribution of information to Site and Subcontractors with the ability to identify interrelated aspects of project documents and how they relate to construction
- Manage project mock-ups samples RFIs and Submittals and drive information to conclusion
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs and participate in subcontractor pricing including scope qualification and price comparisons.
- Support Project Managers and Superintendent in the advancement of essential design information by direct communication with design team
- Generate and update weekly and monthly reports as directed
- Track changes in project scope schedule and costs and funnel information to the project budget manager (ASPM and/or APM)
- Communicate with design team site and subcontractors independently
- Specialty material procurement
- Other duties as required
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelors Degree in Architecture Engineering Construction Management or related field or equivalent in years of experience
- Minimum 4 years related work experience preferably in high-end residential construction
- Independent and self-starting with strong attention to details deadlines and a commitment to excellence
- Looks ahead and organizes activities to stay on top of the projects needs
- Clear and concise written and oral communicator; understands who the key players are and how information flows for successful design engineering and construction integration
- Ownership: Is committed to the success of the project the team and the company
- Strong computer skills including intermediate or advanced Excel Google Docs Adobe and cloud-based storage systems (i.e. Box and Dropbox). Additional skills include: AutoCAD Microsoft Project Revit PlanGrid SketchUp Timberline
- Must live in the local area and be authorizedto work in the U.S.
- Must have reliable transportation and meet the Companys driving requirements.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION
Group Medical / Vision / Dental Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays 401k with Company Contribution.
Base salary is $90000 - $120000 per year (DOE) plus annual discretionary bonus. Please note the posted salary is an estimated range that will be adjusted for skillset and experience.
This is a full time exempt (salaried) position. Overtime may be required during various phases of the project. Most if not all work will be performed at the job site.
