Job Summary
Supports the implementation of medical career and technical education (CTE) programs in Duval County Public Schools by using clinical expertise to help maintain program compliance assist teachers and students with clinical readiness requirements and ensure proper documentation is maintained. Provides support for program logistics student tracking site coordination and administrative needs related to CNA Allied Health Assisting and other medical training pathways.
Essential Functions (Not intended to be all-inclusive)
- Coordinates and reviews student compliance records including immunizations physicals TB tests drug screenings and background checks.
- Maintains and tracks student clinical eligibility data and communicates updates with school staff administrators and clinical partners.
- Supports scheduling documentation and preparation for required CPR/BLS classes and certification testing (e.g. CNA exams).
- Communicates regularly with families to coordinate student readiness and respond to questions about clinical requirements.
- Assists with organizing program-related paperwork such as clinical site agreements consent forms and handbooks.
- Provides input and feedback to the CTE Director CTE Specialist and school administrators on student readiness and compliance progress.
- Assists in planning recordkeeping and reporting for Florida Board of Nursing
- Helps teachers understand documentation and policy requirements from the Florida Board of Nursing and other governing bodies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Open Requirements:
- Must hold an active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Must have at least three years of experience in a clinical or educational healthcare setting.
- Experience in a school or program support role is preferred.
Licensing:
- Must maintain current RN licensure through the Florida Board of Nursing.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
- Valid Florida drivers license and reliable transportation to travel between school sites.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of nursing procedures and documentation standards.
- Familiarity with clinical training requirements for CNA and Allied Health programs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word Excel and digital file systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skillswritten and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff administrators families and healthcare partners.
- Ability to read interpret and apply job-related policies and procedures (e.g. Board of Nursing rules student handbooks).
