This GenAI developer role is based in Glasgow working within the award-winning DevGenAI team

DevGenAI is a platform to enable develoeprs to use Generative AI solutions for code translations and code conversions to help us deliver on modernisation targets within the firm. Some examples are Perl to Python and SQL to English. The team is focused on building a platform that leverages Generative AI to enhance developer productivity and streamline code management processes.


The role involves developing and maintaining the DevGenAI platform ensuring it meets the needs of developers across the firm. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement features optimize performance and ensure security compliance.

You will also be responsible for integrating machine learning models into the platform enhancing its capabilities to support various code translation tasks.
The DevGenAI team is part of the larger Morgan Stanley Technology division which is known for its innovative approach to technology in the financial services industry. The team is dedicated to creating cutting-edge solutions that improve developer efficiency and code quality making it easier for teams to modernize their applications and infrastructure.

The DevGenAI team is recognized for its contributions to the field of Generative AI particularly in the context of software development. It plays a crucial role in Morgan Stanleys efforts to modernize its technology stack and improve developer workflows through advanced AI solutions. The team has been featured in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and is a winner of the Banking Tech Awards USA. You will collaborate with top talent to deliver innovative AI solutions for the financial sector.

Skills Requirements:

  • Skills in Python
  • Advanced proficiency in Python programming
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow PyTorch)
  • Familiarity with data processing libraries (e.g. pandas NumPy)
  • Ability to write clean modular and testable code
  • Understanding of API development and integration
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure:
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS load balancing firewalls)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Knowledge of Authentication Principles:
  • Solid understanding of OAuth2 and OIDC (OpenID Connect)
  • Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization flows


Desirable Skills:

  • Scripting in Bash for automation tasks
  • Strong fundamentals in working within a Linux Environment
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms within Morgan Stanley (MKS TM WebStax etc)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Helm GitOps)
  • Familiar with openSource tools for LLMs (e.g. LangChain SemanticKernel LlamaIndex)
