Salary range is $78k to $134k with a midpoint of $88k. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint however we may go slightly higher based on experience internal equity and market.

This is a Term-Limited role with an anticipated duration of 4 years.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under administrative direction the Project Manager manages the activities and operations of space planning for the agency. Provides project management support to the space planning staff responsible for scoping and executing projects by partnering with senior team members in the Agency. Maximizes the utilization of space planning resources within the ASO and providing centralized business services in terms of oversight of procurement/contracts engagements invoice management and managing the budget calendar of activities throughout the year. This role will be responsible for driving delivery excellence continuous improvements and customer satisfaction consistent with ASO strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Provides project management support and guidance to the space planning team.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously for budgeting project schedules contingency plans and critical paths. Negotiates contract changes as agreed upon per Agency policies and procedures along with agreements with third-parties as applicable.
- Prepares reports of project phases to leadership and stakeholder jurisdictions as directed. Seeks creative solutions as issues arise and works to build successful collaborative teams.
- Provides leadership in the creation continuous improvement and execution of project management processes and practices. Monitors the compliance with the accepted processes to ensure that set requirements are met.
- Collaborates with various agency staff on renovation and new construction projects; participates in the design review of construction drawings and specifications; makes recommendations on concepts such as space plans and furniture selections to meet business objectives; demonstrates the overall merits of recommendations in a way that gains stakeholder support and achieves consensus.
- Alongside the space planning manager assists the team in areas of invoice management procurement/contract processes the annual budget development calendar and general variance reporting.
- Communicates effectively within the Agency and the community. Expected to have demonstrated proficiency in producing polished written and visual communication materials as well as public speaking.
- Builds relationships with people from a wide variety of jurisdictions communities and professions and has the ability to relate to many cultures.
- Reviews professional services and deliverables from artists for conformance to quality schedule and budget requirements. Reviews and approves invoices based on contract requirements.
- Provides support during design and construction phases including coordination of various consultants and determination of the feasibility and constructability project.
- Champions and models Sound Transits core values and demonstrates values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree in Interior design Space Planning Architecture Project Management or related field. Four years in successful managing multiple projects through artist selection design fabrication and installation; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Valid state drivers license. This position is responsible for transporting items to and from warehouses.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Project management skills in scheduling organizing planning and implementing space programs; ability to manage multiple tasks set objectives/goals and re-prioritize as needed.

- Principles and practices of program/project development and administration.
- Interior design principles and standards for office furnishings finishes and configurations.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard hybrid office field and warehouse environment.
- Positions working in field may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery extreme weather conditions physical harm hazardous chemicals and/or extreme noise.
- Position may include weekend/night shifts; position is responsible for office and/or space set up during nights and weekends.
- This position is responsible for supporting new office set up. May be subject to bending crawling eye/hand coordination kneeling pushing pulling reaching seeing and carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds.
