Job Description

  • Full time backfill role until 10 November 2025
  • Location: Orange NSW other locations considered.
  • Salary from $pa superannuation (Professional Officer Grade 6)
  • This opportunity is open to DPIRD/LLS staff only

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Leader Slopes and Rangelands Systems to drive research and development activities for temperate pastures across New South Wales. This is a key leadership role providing both strategic guidance and operational support to deliver world-class outcomes in pasture R&D.

What Youll be doing:

In this role you will:

  • Lead supervise and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Establish and deliver innovative research and development programs for temperate pastures.
  • Build strong partnerships across NSW DPIRD other government agencies with key stakeholders research partners and RDCs
  • Provide operational support including governance financial management and reporting on project outcomes.
  • Offer expert advice to the Director Pastures on current and emerging issues in temperate pastures.
  • Evaluate program and project effectiveness and showcase the impact of R&D activities.

What were looking for

Wed love to hear from you if you have:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in agriculture or a science-based discipline (essential requirement).
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to guide and motivate diverse teams.
  • Proven skills in building collaborations across government research and industry.
  • A track record of successfully managing complex projects budgets and governance.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel (essential requirement).
