Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all production equipment and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and 0% downtime in the manufacturing process. This role includes managing a team of engineers & technicians developing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards specific to the beverage industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Planning and Execution
- Developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production equipment and utilities.
- Ensuring timely execution of maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Leading troubleshooting efforts to resolve mechanical electrical and automation issues related to production machinery.
- Team Management
- Managing training and developing a team of maintenance technicians and engineers to ensure high levels of performance and technical expertise.
- Assigning tasks and responsibilities to maintenance staff ensuring adequate support for all shifts.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance
- Overseeing the maintenance of all beverage production machinery of 8 lines.
- Managing the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Inventory and Spare Parts Management
- Maintaining appropriate levels of spare parts and materials to support maintenance activities without causing delays.
- Working closely with the purchasing department to manage stock levels and optimize the supply chain for spare parts.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with relevant health safety and environmental regulations specific to the beverage industry.
- Leading regular safety inspections and audits and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- Ensuring that all equipment maintenance complies with industry quality standards (e.g. GMP HACCP ISO).
- Collaboration with Other Departments
- Working closely with production quality control and engineering teams to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement of production processes.
- Providing technical support to other departments as needed particularly during production start-up and shutdown activities.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities repairs and equipment performance.
- Preparing regular reports on maintenance performance metrics including downtime costs and improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance manager preferably in the beverage industry.
- Strong knowledge of beverage production machinery.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards in the food and beverage industry (e.g. GMP HACCP ISO).
