Job Description:
Responsible for supporting financial accounting and reporting. Prepare and review monthly quarterly and year-end closing deliverables including daily journal entries.
Lead or support related projects including large-scale reporting initiatives aimed at creating process efficiencies and enhanced value-added reporting.
Institute and execute procedures and controls to ensure the integrity of financial statements demonstrating that financial results are free of error and reported in accordance with applicable GAAP and corporate policies.
Support ad hoc requests from various stakeholders including but not limited to the Actuarial team and Regional Office.
Contribute to the business and financial objectives of Sun Life Hong Kong.
University degree in Accounting or equivalent.
Qualified Accountant of HKICPA ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
At least 4 years of experience in accounting preferably in the insurance industry.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools including Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead others.
Ability to collaborate with other teams and/or business units to produce time-sensitive results.
Adaptable flexible and self-motivated in a fast-paced and changing business environment with a can-do attitude.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines.
Detail-oriented well-organized self-starter and a team player with a high level of initiative.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Knowledge of SAP GL systems.
Knowledge of Workiva.
Strong financial background with broad knowledge of the insurance industry.
