JOB SUMMARY

The Registration Specialist is responsible for check-in preregistration registration preadmission and admission. These functions include but are not limited to obtaining accurate and thorough demographic information responsibility for adhering to compliance with CMS government payors commercial and third-party payors EMTALA and The Joint Commission rules and regulations and ensuring compliance requirements benefit verification preauthorization requirements signatures on consent for treatment co-pay collection and other payments on previous balances obtaining information pictures and signature on HIPAA forms issuing Medicare/Tricare Important Messages and Patient Rights and Responsibilities. The Registration Specialist is goal-oriented and makes decisions based on the worth and success of everyone involved in the Revenue Cycle.

JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education:

- High School diploma or GED- required

License/Certification:

- EPIC credentialed trainer within one (1) one year of hire date- required

Experience:

- One (1) year of experience of registration duties or related skills- required
