Radiology Veterinary Technician
This position focuses on sedation monitoring and imaging of both small and large animal patients undergoing various diagnostic procedures including radiography ultrasound CT bone scan and fluoroscopy.
The successful candidate will work efficiently and collaboratively with radiographers and fellow LVTs to facilitate imaging exams. Responsibilities include drawing up and administering veterinarian-prescribed medications patient monitoring during imaging performing imaging procedures assisting with proper patient positioning (often alongside veterinary students) and managing recovery and reversal. There will be ongoing opportunities for training in and exposure to advanced imaging modalities such as CT bone scan and fluoroscopy.

Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college technical or vocational school in Veterinary Technology; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in extensive patient care surgery anesthesia drug-dosing and sterilization; experience in the use of spreadsheet and word processing software or an equivalent combination of education and experience; licensed as a Veterinary Technician with the State of Michigan or attainment of such certification within one year from date of employment.
Experience with veterinary anesthesia
Experience working with students in a teaching environment
Experience with radiation-emitting equipment
Ultrasound experience
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Demonstrated enthusiasm for patient care and learning
Michigan state veterinary technician licensure (or eligibility to obtain within 612 months of hire)

These are full-time four 10-hour 1st Shift (8:30 AM 7:00 PM) with rotating weekend coverage.

Will be required to lift medical equipment and animals into cages; carry animals between cages and exam tables/gurneys; push cartscontaining animals and equipment to other areas of the hospital; climb stairs carrying lab samples; restrain animals. Lifting of up to 50lbsindividually or 150lbs as a team.
Working with animals or unfixed tissue.
May wear respirator.
Possible exposure to zoonotic diseases.
