The Department of Music and Drama at Prairie View A&M University invites applications for Lecturer of Piano position starting in Fall 2025. We are seeking a full-time Non-tenure track (NTT) member committed to excellence in undergraduate education.
Responsibilities:
Instructs students in applied piano lessons and functional piano classes.
Instructs Sight Singing & Ear Training courses.
Accompanies students and faculty in recitals.
Communicates course progress to students promptly.
Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Masters Degree in piano performance/pedagogy.
One year of teaching in higher education.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in classical music.
Proficient in word processing and presenting in software internet and e-mail.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Effective verbal written and listening communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with a various group of students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Piano Performance/Pedagogy.
Two years of teaching experience.
Proficiency in other styles of music such as gospel and jazz is highly desirable.
