Job Description

Position Summary:

Lead accounting team at Thermo Fisher Scientific ensuring flawless financial statements and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the Record to Report supervision team ensuring the operational performance of department members through strategic orientation and direction.
  • Successfully ensure compliance with departmental and organizational objectives adhering to established policies and processes.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to personnel management including assistance control vacation planning and performance evaluations following company policies.
  • Conduct development conversations and follow up with team members encouraging their professional growth.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings with supervisors to analyze metrics performance indicators and monthly outcomes and discuss staff concerns and corporate news.
  • Coordinate month-end close activities ensuring all accounting tasks are completed within stipulated timelines.
  • Find opportunities for continuous process improvement and propose innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and profitability of the Record to Report department.
  • Support internal and external audit processes SOX compliance initiatives and maintain stringent control over operating procedures.
  • Develop strategies to increase employee engagement and dedication through motivation and opportunities offered by Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • Determine personnel needs strategically to ensure efficient operational flow and support the hiring process accordingly.
  • Implement standardized operations methods crafting performance metrics to ensure detailed and high-quality general accounting tasks.
  • Participate in organizational-level strategies that promote the continuous improvement of the Shared Service Center.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors degree related to the position or 8 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in Shared Service Centers.
  • B2 English proficiency.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word PowerPoint Outlook and advanced Excel.
  • Experience with ERPs (Oracle SAP JDEdwards Mainframe).
  • US GAAP proficiency.
  • Experience with Backline or Hyperion (plus).
  • Experience with bank platforms (plus).
  • Experience in SOX Compliance (plus).
