The Candidate
You are passionate about addressing climate change and see biofuels as a key solution in this global challenge. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed team player with a focus on driving superior performance in the biofuels sector leveraging their expertise in sales and trading. With experience in commodity energy fuels or gas you are motivated to further develop your commercial skills specifically in biofuels and feedstocks.
The ideal candidate is confident yet open to direct feedback and has a strong understanding of physical markets ideally biofuels and/or feedstocks. You possess the ability to identify commercial opportunities while mitigating the associated risks and you are adept at working in a structured and precise manner.
We are looking for someone eager to grow both personally and professionally who will contribute to the development of the team and the expansion of the companys biofuels business internationally.
The Role
The trader will be responsible for setting up (structured) deals withing feedstocks fuels and by-products. The team consists of international experienced professionals with a proven track record in trading physical commodities. Your role is to grow and expand the book by cultivating long-term client relationships mapping the renewable fuel markets and identifying key trade opportunities. You will source and execute transactions in both developed and developing markets navigating the complexities of each regions renewable energy landscape.
You will have full responsibility for developing and building out the trading book(s). A critical aspect of this role is gaining or possessing extensive knowledge of the Renewable Fuels markets particularly in
biofuels and
feedstocks.
You will take ownership of the entire trading process from managing (junior) traders to identifying trading opportunities in the evolving biofuels market executing deals and ensuring excellent post-trade handling.
By leveraging your expertise in biofuels and feedstocks you will position the team to meet the growing demand for renewable energy solutions and contribute to the global energy transition.
The role will consist of but not limited to the following actions on a daily basis:
- Communicate daily with your team mid-office risk and management
- Engage with our counterparties exchange information and needs
- Transform these needs into concrete trading opportunities
- Actively approach new customers to build the customer database
- Conduct local market and product research on the environmental commodities markets especially the physical markets and cross-over markets
- Contribute to the companys growth efforts
- Manage and if necessary aid and assist with the post-trade logistics of pending trades
- Manage sustainability requirements of your products and clients
The Requirements
In order to be considered for the role you will meet the following:
- Fluent in English and German/Turkish another language is a plus
- Bachelors or Masters degree for instance Commodity related programs Econometrics Economics Finance Business Administration or similar
- Minimum 2 years experience in (sales) trading roles and/or trading (illiquid) markets
- Articulate precise and excellent analytical skills
- Experience with trading commodities is a must
- Experience with Renewables is considered a plus
- Living and working in Amsterdam the Netherlands or willing to relocate
