Job Description
JOB TITLE: Safety Officer (Mining Site)
JOB LOCATION:Kama-Otto Nasarawa
JOB DETAILS:
ADVERTISEMENT
- We are seeking a dedicated Mining Site Safety Officer to ensure compliance with safety standards minimize workplace hazards and promote a culture of safety at our mining site.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure that all operations comply with applicable safety standards and regulations proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
- Conduct daily safety inspections of the site to identify and rectify hazards ensuring a safe working environment.
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions to enhance employees awareness and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in the development and execution of emergency response plans and drills to ensure site readiness for emergencies.
- Maintain detailed records of safety inspections incidents and corrective actions and prepare reports for management review.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelors Degree / HND qualification with 0 2 years work
- Familiarity with Nigerian mining safety regulations and standards.
- Proven work experience in a safety role preferably in the mining industry.
- Relevant safety certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and communicate safety policies to employees.
- Ability to work onsite in potentially challenging environments and actively participate in inspections and audits.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify hazards and propose effective solutions.
Salary
N90000 N140000 / month.
