Description

The San Diego State University Marketing Department at Fowler College of Businessseeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in consumer insights and analyticsto begin August 19 2026.

Candidates must demonstrate experience in and/or commitment to should possess a strong research interest and capability evidenced by a history of or potential for professional growth. This includes regular publication in quality refereed journals participation in professional conferences and an active innovative research agenda. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with the business community.

The SDSU Fowler College of Business one of the nations oldest and largest AACSB-accredited business schools has a significant regional national and international impact. The Marketing Departments faculty are active in research areas including consumer behavior marketing management strategy and sales management with expertise in experience design sensory marketing digital marketing marketing analytics societal impact and sustainability. Their research has appeared in the Journal of Marketing Management Science Strategic Management Journal Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science Journal of Consumer Psychology Journal of Consumer Research Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management International Journal of Research in Marketing Journal of Marketing Research Journal of Advertising and Journal of Public Policy and Marketing.

Qualifications

  • A record of original research / scholarly / creative accomplishments and demonstrated capacity to a) develop a vigorous and independent program of research / scholarship / creative activity b) teach graduate and undergraduate courses; and c) engage in both campus and professional service activities.

  • Demonstration of past accomplishments and/or future plans in at least two (2) or more of theBuilding on Inclusive Excellence criteria.

The minimum salary for this position is based on the current CSU salary schedule and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from TBD. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience and salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
