Job Description

In a nutshell

As our UX researcher you will work collaboratively with Data Analysts Product Owners and Designers to develop the full user experience of Picnics products. With an open personality youre able to empathize with end-users on a weekly basis whether thats by guiding users through prototypes or investigating a new topic.

Half of the week you initiate plan and execute hands-on research activities. The other half is used to observe and analyse user behaviour and communicate those insights effectively to various teams and stakeholders. You experiment with research approaches to answer important questions. How can we make in-app customer service more accessible How do customers decide what to eat How can we make delivering our groceries safer for our runners Every week presents new challenges to explore frame and evaluate. Understanding both the big picture and the details you examine insights from unique angles to bring a deeper understanding of customer experience and provide testable hypotheses.

  • Research: Take ownership of research activities to bring deep level insights
  • Testing & exploring: Provide new hypotheses to test and explore
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with designers and test prototypes on a weekly basis
  • Share insights: Document sessions and present actionable insights to both consumer-facing and employee-facing teams
  • Customer focus: Be the face of Picnic and engage with customers
  • Continuous improvement: Strive for continuous improvement to take our UX team to the next level

Your superpowers

  • MSc. degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Design Human Computer Interaction Design or Product Design
  • 0-3 years of experience as UX Researcher
  • Analytical eye: Youre not a data wizard but youre familiar with Excel and know how to visualise and interpret data
  • Ability to reason on high level about various topics to quickly understand and discuss both business and technical concepts
  • Excellent communicator: You know how to strike up a conversation with anyone and know how to present insights succinctly
  • Flexibility: Agile approach and ability to learn on the go
  • Creativity: Outside-the box thinking and passion for details
  • Affinity for or previous experience with digital design is a plus
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English. German and French are a plus
