ABOUT THE DISTRICT
River Delta is a K-12 district with an enrollment of 1880. The District has 8 small schools: (4) K-6 elementary schools; (2) middle schools; and (2) high schools serving the communities of Clarksburg Hood Courtland Walnut Grove Ryde Locke Isleton Rio Vista Birds Landing and Collinsville.
The River Delta Unified School District sits in three counties Sacramento Solano and Yolo. Although it is a tri-county district it is served by the Sacramento County Office of Education.
River Delta Unifed School District is committed to providing a quality education for all students and has high standards and expectations for students success in school. We are committed to ensuring that our students meet these standards and that our clients expectations for educational excellence are not compromised. The District continually improves and expands its curriculum by implementing new programs and broadening the instructional strategies used in the classroom.
Staff development opportunities are provided encouraged and promoted. Strategic Schooling is ongoing in all our school sites and Common Core training and coaching is the top priority for the district addition the District provides opportunities for staff to participate in on-going in-services in all curriculum areas. The district encourages advancement on the salary schedule for advanced classes taken to improve instruction in areas agreed upon by the teacher principal and Superintendent.

BUS DRIVER
DEFINITION
To drive the school bus while transporting students and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the Transportation Director/Transportation Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS -- Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Operational characteristics of school buses.
First aid methods of techniques.
Pertinent Federal State and local laws codes and regulations.
Standard safety precautions.
Ability to:
Read maps.
Operate a school bus.
Perform preventive maintenance checks on school buses.
Supervise pupils and implement discipline as necessary.
Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Maintain audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for successful job performance.
Maintain the mental capacity to make sound decisions and demonstrate intellectual competencies.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Experience operating buses as desirable.
Training:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and successful completion of California school bus driver certification.
License or Certificate:
Possession of a California School Bus Driver Certificate and Class B-P driver license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
WORKING CONDITOINS:

Field environment; drive a school bus exposure to petroleum chemical sand fumes.
Physical Conditions:
Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting standing stopping or bending for prolonged periods of time; light to moderate lifting; operating motorized vehicles.
