Job Description

Job duties Support company initiatives falling under two categories organic growth (involving investments in R&D and new software technologies that we develop in-house) and inorganic growth (acquisitions of other software companies and intellectual property). Support the companys mission to be an operator of software applications whether they are developed internally or acquired organic growth initiatives use understanding of software architecture and development to either directly code some applications and/or oversee employees who perform those functions and make decisions about how to guide their work. Act as a first user of any new software applications that are developed internally. May utilize modeling software i.e. Python R Tableau and/or Alteryx. For inorganic growth initiatives work with upper management to make decisions about the companys acquisition strategy. Answer board-level strategy questions. Identify investment themes and determine operating model across portfolio companies. Lead and execute growth strategy projects including developing financial models for business valuation and presenting recommendations to managers and senior executives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential acquisition targets industry experts and other stakeholders to identify potential investment opportunities that align with our companys strategic business development objectives and facilitate deal-making. Use background in software applications to identify evaluate and ultimately operate acquired software companies. Understand and evaluate the technologies that we are considering acquiring including developing an understanding of how these products are built. Interface with technology founders during the inorganic growth transactions/process which includes deal sourcing deal diligence and post-acquisition integration phases of our process. Conduct research and develop an understanding of similar products at the deal sourcing stage to the level needed to communicate with technology founders and other technology company employees including those in business development roles and engage them on the topic of potentially selling their company. Engage with upper management at these companies and have sensitive conversations about a potential acquisition. Perform in-depth market and commercial due diligence to assess market position competitive landscape growth potential technical scalability and integration challenges of the acquired companies. Design repeatable methods for deal sourcing and due diligence. Plan and oversee the integration of acquired companies products or technologies working closely with management teams to ensure a smooth transition and to maximize the value of the acquisition. Identify and implement technology solutions that can streamline and enhance the efficiency of the acquired a Strategy and Operations team with responsibility for supporting both organic and inorganic growth transactions. Review team members work and delegate tasks to ensure comprehensive coverage of all workstreams for active deal opportunities. Education and Experience required Bachelors degree in any STEM or Liberal Arts field and 2 years of experience in private equity deal evaluation and value Experience must include 2 years of experience serving investing firms especially private equity firms with a majority acquisition strategy; 2 years of experience leading and executing growth strategy projects including developing financial models for business valuation and presenting recommendations from growth strategy projects and financial analysis to managers and senior executives.; Ability to write code and understand how coding ability relates to strategy projects in a technology context; Experience using modeling software in one or more of the following packages: Python R Tableau and/or Alteryx; Experience in a managerial role with responsibility for checking and ensuring the quality of team members work output as well as delegating tasks effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of all workstreams for active deal opportunities; Experience answering board-level strategy questions including identifying investment themes and determining operating model across portfolio companies; Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with potential acquisition targets industry experts and other stakeholders to identify potential investment opportunities that align with strategic business development objectives and facilitate deal-making; 1 year of experience planning and overseeing the integration of acquired companies products or technologies working closely with management teams to ensure a smooth transition and to maximize the value of the acquisition and identifying and implementing technology solutions that can streamline and enhance the efficiency of the acquired companies; 1 year of experience performing in-depth market and commercial due diligence to assess the market position competitive landscape growth potential technical scalability and integration challenges of acquisition targets; Experience designing methods for deal sourcing and due diligence that can be followed by others effectively integrating people process and technology; 1 year of experience identifying evaluating and acquiring software San Francisco CARate of Pay $187574/yearHow to apply Send resume to and reference Job ID: SOM-AL in subject line.
