Job Summary:
This role is for a Surgical Technologist to provide surgical support in a Level I Trauma Center. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and proficiency in a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties. Weekend and on-call responsibilities are required.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing surgical rooms and equipment.
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Handling and managing surgical instruments and supplies.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and reporting any changes.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Floating within the scope of practice to meet facility needs.
- Participating in on-call coverage as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital setting.
- Proficiency in a wide range of surgical procedures (detailed in input).
- BLS certification.
- CST certification preferred.
- Experience with various surgical equipment and instrumentation (detailed in input).
- Knowledge of aseptic technique isolation precautions radiation safety sharps safety specimen handling/labeling and universal protocol.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in a Magnet hospital.
- Teaching Hospital Experience.
Special Considerations:
- Weekend work is required (once a month 16 hours).
- On-call responsibilities are required as needed.
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility.
- Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD for fingerprinting.
- RTO restrictions: must be discussed and approved by manager.
- Guaranteed hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without penalty; additional cancellations will be billed. On-call shifts in lieu of call-offs count as called-off shifts.
Scheduling:
- 5x8-hour days (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM).
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
