About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Science Intern with strong Python coding skills to contribute to real-world data science projects in container operations. You will work with PSAs data science team to develop predictive models analyze operational data and create insightful visualizations using Power BI. Additionally experience with PowerApps or Python GUI development (e.g. Tkinter PyQt Streamlit) would be a plus for building interactive applications to support decision-making in port operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Python scripts for data analysis and predictive modeling.
- Implement machine learning models to support operations.
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements in port operations.
- Develop Power BI dashboards to visualize real-time port operations container logistics and key performance metrics.
- Develop interactive applications using Microsoft PowerApps or Python GUI frameworks (e.g. Tkinter PyQt Streamlit) to support decision-making in operational workflows.
- Supervised by data scientists to apply AI and advanced analytics for operational improvements.
- Document code workflows and findings for knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science Engineering or a related field.
- Strong Python programming skills with experience in libraries such as Pandas NumPy Scikit-learn and TensorFlow/PyTorch.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks.
- Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization is a plus.
- Experience with PowerApps or Python GUI development (e.g. Tkinter PyQt Streamlit) for building interactive applications is a plus.
- Passion for data-driven innovation in logistics and container operations.
