Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and technically capable BI Engineer I to support and operate the day-to-day Business Intelligence function within our growing data and analytics team in Mexico City. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and developing business dashboards executing ad-hoc reporting requests and providing timely and effective support to business stakeholders.

This position is ideal for someone with 24 years of experience in BI a strong sense of ownership over data delivery and an eagerness to grow in a hands-on analytics environment while working with tools like Power BI Qlik Sense and Looker.

Key Responsibilities:

BI Operations & Dashboard Management

• Manage and maintain existing dashboards and BI solutions using Power BI Qlik Sense and Looker.
• Ensure high availability and performance of reports through monitoring and proactive troubleshooting.
• Implement incremental improvements visual enhancements and usability upgrades based on business feedback.

Business Stakeholder Support

• Act as the first line of support for BI and reporting-related queries from functional teams.
• Interpret business needs into technical solutionsmodifying or creating reports and dashboards accordingly.
• Provide data-driven support to decision-makers by delivering accurate insightful and timely reports.

Ad-Hoc Reporting & Data Requests

• Handle ad-hoc data extraction and reporting requests using SQL Excel or BI tools.
• Build and maintain standard and recurring reports for key departments including Sales Finance and Operations.

Data Integration & Visualization

• Leverage strong data modelling skills to build consistent reusable datasets.
• Assist in embedding dashboards and distributing reports through email-based delivery mechanisms and web-based integrations.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Document key reports metrics and data logic for internal reference and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with senior BI engineers data engineers and business analysts to implement solutions and resolve issues efficiently.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science Statistics or related field.
• 24 years of experience in Business Intelligence Analytics or a data-related role.
• Hands-on experience in Power BI Qlik Sense or Looker for report and dashboard development.
• Solid understanding of SQL for data querying and transformation.
• Proficient in Advanced Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Python and HTML for simple automation and embedding needs is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to managing tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with embedded analytics or BI integration into web apps or portals.
• Exposure to cloud data environments (e.g. AWS GCP Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems or request queues (e.g. JIRA ServiceNow) to manage ad-hoc tasks.
