Were looking for a talented software engineer to architect and optimize Media Access Control (MAC) layer solutions for our next-generation satellite communication platform. Youll work at the intersection of space technology and wireless communications leveraging your expertise in:

- Bare-metal embedded systems
- Embedded Linux development
- Modern systems programming (Rust/C)

The Role

- Design and implement MAC layer protocols for wireless communication systems
- Develop efficient real-time software for resource-constrained embedded platforms
- Optimize protocol performance for latency-sensitive applications
- Interface with PHY layer implementations and higher network stack components
- Collaborate with hardware teams for efficient hardware/software integration
- Develop automated testing frameworks for protocol validation

About the team
Our team tackles many critical satellite functions including power management hardware interfaces command & telemetry and autonomous control. We are looking for an outstanding software engineer to participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
