Position Summary:
A Maintenance Engineer performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment systems and structures throughout the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Installs tests maintains operates and repairs machinery equipment and systems as scheduled or needed.
- Performs major and minor maintenance work.
- Performs utility and structural repairs as needed alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
- Assists with inspection testing and maintenance of all fire risers sprinklers extinguishers fire doors and other fire/safety-related equipment and systems.
- Performs preventative maintenance procedures on equipment building systems and utility systems as assigned.
- Moves items within/between locations and from/to storage.
- Assembles and relocates furniture.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Reports to: Director Facilities
FLSA: Non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent Required
- At least 2 years experience with maintenance preferably in a hospital setting.
Work Experience:
- Two years institutional/commercial maintenance experience required.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry plumbing HVAC electrical and/or electronic systems required.
Required Skills:
- Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
