Job Description

The Quality Improvement & Performance Advisor will be responsible for the development implementation and delivery of clinical quality initiatives for the Lurie Childrens Health Partners Clinical Integration Network (CIN). Quality Improvement and Performance Advisors skillfully apply the principles of quality improvement project management stakeholder management and meeting facilitation to identify inefficiencies and develop and implement creative solutions that address barriers to optimal cost-effective care. Quality team members work effectively with diverse stakeholders such as CIN leadership external vendors Lurie Childrens leadership Lurie Childrens specialists and community pediatricians / practices to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes for the CIN pediatric population.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the implementation of a strategic structured approach to quality improvement of care across the network with a primary focus on community-based practices in value-based contracts.
  • Develops implements and provides project management support for initiatives that improve quality cost and utilization for a subset of practices. Proactively anticipates project barriers and establishes contingency plans.
  • Serves as the face of the CIN in the physician offices and the primary point of contact for questions and issues. Develops and enhances relationships with community-based physicians and their practice staff.
  • Supports practices in the network in transitioning to value-based payment structures that promote achieving the CIN mission.
  • Leads physician and practice staff training and education regarding updates in value-based principles such as cost utilization quality and patient experience metrics as well as vendor-supported tools.
  • Develops coherent actionable summaries from the input of hospital and community providers staff and additional stakeholders generated during meetings.
  • Interprets data from a variety of sources and regularly shares data in an actionable format with practices.
  • Develops and shares meaningful summary reports supporting priority metrics for the CIN; possesses working knowledge of the payor contracts and annual incentive models.
  • Monitors practice-specific data to continually identify opportunities for improvements in quality cost and utilization.
  • Collaborates with Financial Analytics Team to share specialty retention reports market analysis patient-provider assignment and contracting with practices.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Operations and CIN vendors for ongoing clinical and claims data acquisition & integration in support of the clinical quality measures.
  • Troubleshoots issues identified by practices in CIN-supported tools.
  • Attends CIN meetings as requested by leadership.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients families co-workers and others.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree (MPH MHA MSN MBA or other relevant degree) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience required.
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite and vendor applications; experience using EMR system(s) preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Local travel required; ability to attend evening meetings required on occasion.
  • Ability to apply quality improvement and process improvement techniques and methodologies in value-based arrangements.
  • Understanding of integration of care across the continuum.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in utilizing quality measurement systems and in creating practical and effective practice workflow tools.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain relationships with physicians and medical practice personnel.

Pay Range

$65520.00-$107120.00 Salary

At Lurie Childrens we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity reflecting individual contributions experience and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position.
