Job Description

Overview

The Infrastructure Project Manager who will be responsible for the managing and implementing of Infrastructure-based projects with quality within scope and to ensure deliverables are on time and conform to processes and standards meeting customers requirements. The incumbent is also responsible for projects resource scheduling tracking risk management and quality assurance.

What will you do

Project & Service Management

  • Lead deliver and maintain projects within time scope and cost
  • Ensure project delivery quality
  • Plan & establish project schedules quality plans budgets and communication and risk management plans
  • Manage issues arising out of scope definition and disputes that impacted scope schedule and cost
  • Manage issues arising from integration of various components of the project e.g. hardware software installation testing business process review redesign application development migration and data conversion etc
  • Manage project financials ensuring project cost/ revenue forecast is done accurately
  • Oversee the implementation of the project with regard to schedules budget manpower and quality
  • Resolve project overrun issues
  • Track project progress and report to Senior Management and Customer
  • Manage resources in terms of mobilising resources during different periods of time from team to team to maximise productivity or minimise wastage
  • Lead the project and service team on smooth project transition to operation in accordance to customer requirement and processes.
  • Manage project operation and ensure service level is maintained without financial penalty and security incident due to negligent or lack of awareness
  • Leverage Microsoft Excel Power BI and other Microsoft 365 tools to analyze project performance metrics resource utilization and financial data.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visual reports to track project progress risks and KPIs for internal and customer reporting.
  • Use data-driven insights to support forecasting risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Kanban-style tools such as Trello Microsoft Planner or Project for the Web to visualize project workflows manage task assignments and monitor progress in real time.
  • Implement agile project tracking methods to improve transparency accountability and responsiveness across project phases.
  • Integrate Slack or Microsoft Teams for streamlined communication status updates and collaboration among cross-functional teams.

Customer/Vendor/ Stakeholder Management

  • Manage contracts and subcontractors
  • Effectively engaged stakeholders in project decisions and execution
  • Build long-term customer relationships by anticipating and exceeding customers expectation
  • Negotiate with customers on change control mechanism to meet schedules and prioritize changes based on business needs
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Present project data and trends using Microsoft PowerPoint and Power BI to facilitate stakeholder engagement and decision-making.
  • Translate complex data into clear visual narratives to support change management and prioritization discussions.

Team Management

  • Work cohesively lead guide manage and motivate the projects team members in delivering quality project works eliminating project exceptions and delighting the customers
  • Plan for optimal use of resources across teams comprising of Project and Technical competencies
  • Manage performance review of team and maintain open communication with team for feedback on continuous improvement
  • Ensure high individual and staff billability
  • Promote the use of collaborative platforms (e.g. Trello Microsoft Planner Slack) to enhance team coordination task ownership and productivity.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups or sprint reviews using Kanban boards to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.

The ideal candidate should possess:

Competency WAN Migration Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in managing WAN migration activities.
  • Ability to coordinate with Internet Service Providers for timely WAN deployment.
  • Strong project tracking skills to ensure milestones and timelines are met.

2. Experience in Tech Refresh Environments

  • Proven capability in handling system setup in collaboration with customer counterparts.
  • Experience in planning and executing migration from legacy to new systems.
  • Ability to integrate new systems into existing infrastructures (e.g. GovTech DC/GCC/GDC/Axisnet) seamlessly.

3. Domain Knowledge and Process Awareness

  • While in-depth knowledge of GovTech practices is not mandatory familiarity with relevant processes is advantageous.

This includes:

Submission of documentation (e.g. SRs rack mount plans cabling plans).

Coordination of TAF sessions for obtaining stakeholder approvals.

Understanding of system integration requirements related to operations (e.g. management tools alerting systems backup solutions) which requires coordination with existing operational teams

4. Professional Attributes

  • The Project Manager must demonstrate a high level of professionalism humility and patience.
  • Must be able to effectively engage with stakeholders listen actively to concerns and facilitate collaborative win-win outcomes across all partiesincluding the customer internal teams and external vendors.

5. Data Analysis & Visualization Competency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions pivot tables charts) for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Power BI for building dashboards visualizing trends and generating actionable insights.
  • Ability to interpret data to identify patterns risks and opportunities that inform project strategy and execution.

6. Agile & Kanban Project Tracking

  • Proficient in using Trello Microsoft Planner or Project for the Web to manage tasks visualize workflows and track deliverables.
  • Familiarity with Slack or Microsoft Teams for real-time communication and integration with project tracking tools.
  • Ability to adapt Kanban principles to infrastructure project environments for improved efficiency and stakeholder visibility.
