If you have experience working with groups of preschool children ages 3-5 and have a passion for teaching Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has an amazing role for you as a RecreationPreschool Assistant Teacher at Discovery Park Environmental Learning Center.
ARC in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation serves Seattle by offering access to licensed programming and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs classes and this role the RecreationPreschool Assistant Teacherwill be responsible forengaging participants and helping the Director with activities for preschool participants between the ages of 3 and 5. The RecreationPreschool Assistant Teacheris responsible for maintaining a safe fun inclusive environment welcoming to all.

Recreation Preschool Assistant TeacherResponsibilities:
- Helping lead daily curriculum activities with a classroom of children ages 3-5 years old
- Models appropriate behavior and provides opportunities for social and emotional growth
- Ensures a ratio of 1:8 (staff to children) is maintained as much as possible to ensure that children are safe and accounted for
- Reports to the Recreation Preschool Director
Recreation Preschool Assistant Teacher Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Initial ECE Certificate or equivalent is preferred
- Must have High School Diploma or GED or college transcripts or other secondary education
- Some experience working with groups of children between the ages of 3-5 years old in a preschool setting (preferred)
Schedule:
- Summer (July and August): Monday - Friday up to 25hours per week between the hours of 9:00am - 1:30pm
- Hiring by Date: June 16 2025
Pay:
- Starting Pay:$22.00/hr non-exempt; part-time position
- Full Pay Range:$22.00-25.30/hr(the employee may earn up to $25.30/hr with additional years in the role)
