This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.
This position manages DEQs building leases Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) and Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs) for space management and facilities management needs. This position will act as the liaison between DEQ and The State Property Office and landlords to resolve property issues at DEQ leased locations. This position will represent DEQ at Council of State Meetings for the approval of new lease proposals.
*A valid North Carolina Drivers License is required for this position due to occasional travel including overnight is required. *
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Services:
The DEQ Facilities Services section is responsible for property management for the agency. Facilities Services responsibility includes the Agencys major buildings at Green Square Archdale Reedy Creek Road Complex and dotted line responsibility for all Division of Marine Fisheries facilities. Facilities Services is also responsible for any real property leases and sub-leases throughout the state facility related contracts DOTS tickets office relocations Motor Fleet and Department owned vehicles boats motors trailers planes drones mobile devices security parking and insurance.

Management Preferences:
Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
