This position is located at: Green Square Complex 217 West Jones St. Raleigh NC 27603

This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.
This position manages DEQs building leases Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) and Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs) for space management and facilities management needs. This position will act as the liaison between DEQ and The State Property Office and landlords to resolve property issues at DEQ leased locations. This position will represent DEQ at Council of State Meetings for the approval of new lease proposals.
*A valid North Carolina Drivers License is required for this position due to occasional travel including overnight is required. *
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding property management.
- Manage multiple projects regarding property management and space utilization.
- Perform site visits to all DEQ sites ensuring compliance with NC building codes and state and federal building and construction regulations are met and maintenance and repairs are scheduled and completed.
- Process and maintain MOUs and MOAs for all tenant agencies.
- Overall management and staffing responsibilities over the agencies Parking Security Badge and Mobile Device Programs.
- Supervises assigns daily tasks and leads other professionals.
Facility Services:
The DEQ Facilities Services section is responsible for property management for the agency. Facilities Services responsibility includes the Agencys major buildings at Green Square Archdale Reedy Creek Road Complex and dotted line responsibility for all Division of Marine Fisheries facilities. Facilities Services is also responsible for any real property leases and sub-leases throughout the state facility related contracts DOTS tickets office relocations Motor Fleet and Department owned vehicles boats motors trailers planes drones mobile devices security parking and insurance.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Management Preferences:
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing general provisions and/or requirements of non-residential lease agreements.
- Demonstrated experience in managing non-residential properties and/or resolving property related issues.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
