Job Description
Our retail store provides the fuel the face and the gateway to all the awesome services we provide for individuals families and organizations in the communities we serve. As a Driver you will operate a 1 ton truck. The Driver is responsible for providing a welcome greeting for all donors. DMV and company guidelines must always be observed. Time management is crucial for arriving at the destination and returning on schedule. The Driver exhibits customer commitment personal effectiveness and plays a key role in our mission.

The Newnan retail store located on Thomas Crossroads Retail Store is currently looking for a hard-working and dedicated Driver.
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers Inc.s Driver responsibilities:
- Maintains vehicle logs and daily trip sheets according to all company procedures.
- Reports any mechanical problems delays accidents and/or other traffic and transportation situations to leadership team.
- Loads and unloads trucks vehicles containers and trailers by hand or with the use of a hand truck lift gate and/or pallet jack during pick-up and drop-offs.
- Conducts daily preventative maintenance checks before during and after operations and adheres to all safety regulations.
- Cleans the inside of the assigned vehicle daily and the outside as needed.
- Reports concerns to leadership team immediately.
- Pads stacks and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.
- Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.
You will be hired as a Driver however you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work all areas of the retail operation.
A full-time position averages 30-40 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e. seasonal changes donation volumes etc.) Operating days will fluctuate based on store location. The Driver must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Prior experience in a retail environment may be considered in lieu of education.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
- Prior forklift experience preferred.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers Inc.s Retail Associate Baler responsibilities:
- Places unusable donations in a top-loading clothing baler using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Ties off baler with provided materials removes completed bales with the forklift or pallet jack and stacks bales in the warehouse.
- Loads trucks with completed bales.
- Removes donated goods from poly-bulk trucks or bins.
- Places salvage cardboard and wire into appropriate containers.
- Maintains an organized warehouse.
- Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.
You will be hired as a Retail Associate Baler however you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work in all areas of the retail operation.
The Baler must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); preferred.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
- Forklift Operator certification (preferred)
- Prior experience working in a retail or customer service-related environment is preferred.
- Warehouse experience is preferred.
