About the Role
Join our Maternity team at Queen Mary based in Dunedin as Midwife Clinical Coachwhere you will be responsible for promoting a learning environment within the clinical setting that encourages and supports development of midwifery clinical skills and knowledge.
The Midwife Clinical Coach provides practical clinical education in the workplace demonstrating effective evidence informed and culturally safe practice. You will work closely with new graduate midwives(MFYP) new staff to the maternity service or clinical area international midwives joining the team along with midwives on the Return to Practice (RTP) programme to support their transition to confident practitioners in the clinical setting. You will also be able to work with midwives who need to refresh their clinical skills or knowledge during a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
This diverse role will see you have a variety of responsibilities and involved in a number of different tasks. You will be responsible for providing new staff with a robust orientation to the service practical one-to-one support as needed right through to working closely with the tertiary education providers to develop relationships with new graduate midwives and assisting in the development of the midwifery new graduate programme.

At Queen Mary Maternity Centre we birth around 1800 babies every year and offer primary birthing facilities as well secondary and tertiary level obstetric services for the Southern district.
