Responsibilities
Qualifications
This position supports the missionary purpose and contributes to the quality of tools used at the MTC. Responsibilities include validating software features ensuring functionality across platforms and devices (iOS and Android) and collaborating with development teams to maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
Core Testing Duties:
- Develop and execute manual test cases based on requirements
- Report track and validate bugs using standard tools
- Conduct functional performance and usability testing across platforms (iOS Android web)
- Perform post-release and regression testing
- Assist in designing test plans and quality strategies
- Contribute to writing or maintaining test automation scripts as skills develop
Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in planning meetings and application demos with stakeholders.
- Work closely with developers UX/UI designers and cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC.
- Provide actionable feedback to improve user experience and product quality.
Data & Analysis
- Write basic SQL queries to validate data integrity or analyze user behavior
- Review analytics or usage reports to help identify quality trends or areas for improvement
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong interest in software testing quality assurance or development
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and learning ability with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication of complex ideas
- Works well both independently and in a team including remote collaboration
- Quick learner especially with software and applications
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload in a technical environment
- Willingness to stay current with changing technologies
Physical requirements may include extended sitting and equipment use
Preferred:
- Currently enrolled in or completed coursework in Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems or related field
- Familiarity with QA tools and processes (e.g. bug tracking systems test case management)
- Experience writing basic SQL queries
- Exposure to automation frameworks or scripting
- Experience with MTC TALL system and language learning technologies
- Experience learning or speaking a second language especially as a missionary
- Proficiency in Japanese French or Portuguese
- Experience tutoring or mentoring QA testers
- Working knowledge or interest in technologies such as or GUI technologies
