The Impact You Will Have:
The Sonar Code Quality Team is seeking a passionate and innovative Software Engineer to join our Advanced Bug Detection Squad.
The Advanced Bug Detection Squads mission is to implement sophisticated solutions that automatically identify and prevent critical bugs in code written by developers and generated by AI agents.
This role allows you to apply your deep expertise in static analysis in a truly innovative way pioneering the integration of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Model (LLM) techniques within a domain thats closely tied to applied research.
As part of the Advanced Bug Detection Squad youll tackle the exciting opportunity of leveraging cutting-edge technologies to truly understand programming language semantics. Your work will enable us to detect complex bugs that often escape both human review and LLMs.
What You Will Do Daily:
- Contribute to End-to-End Delivery: Work with Product Managers engineering teams and research teams to specify and implement complex bug detection capabilities in our products. This means everything from scoping out specifications and writing robust code and tests to meticulously reviewing peer contributions validating new features and acting on user feedback post-release.
- Deep Dive into Language Semantics: Youll consistently immerse yourself in the intricacies of programming language semantics pushing our understanding to new depths.
- Evolve Analyzer Intelligence: Youll directly influence how our analyzers interpret code by crafting better models and developing innovative new rules on top of them making our detection capabilities smarter and more precise.
- Contribute to Strategic Goals: Youll participate with various stakeholders to actively contribute to and define the squads short-term objectives and long-term strategic vision.
The Experience You Will Need:
- 2 years of Java development experience.
- Strong engineering skills and a deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
- Proven grasp of static analysis techniques preferred ready to apply them to complex bug detection problems.
- Familiarity with Symbolic Execution and SMT solvers is appreciated but not required.
- Experience or a strong curiosity about Large Language Models (LLMs) Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is highly valued.
- Ability to learn fast.
- Open-minded and very positive can-do attitude.
- Comfortable in dealing with change and complexity.
