BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:
The Direct Service Provider in culinary arts will provide training supervision and instructions to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a commercial kitchen setting. The DSP in culinary arts will report to the Program Innovation Leader (PIL) and Director of Programs/Executive Chef.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
General:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must pass a fingerprint and criminal background check.
Hold a current California drivers license able to drive a passenger van and have a clean driving record.
Can lift a minimum of 45lbs.
Strong communication and teambuilding skills.
Willingness to learn and be flexible to changing State and program requirements.
Able to be patient and work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a respectful and professional manner.
Strong computer skills and able to navigate programs for data entry and recording.
Organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to act with integrity professionalism and confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a high school diploma or GED some college preferred.
Able to work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Fluent in speaking reading and writing in English. Bilingual preferred.
Able to successfully complete organizational provided Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training.
Experience with providing group supervision of a minimum of 4 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate within 3 months
Minimum of 1 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen or food industry
