The opportunity
EY is looking for a Senior SQL Server Consultant to join our dynamic team that focuses on implementing solutions and working in client engagement teams to deliver tech consulting this role you will leverage your extensive experience in SQL Server to design and implement robust database solutions that drive business success. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our data management processes and ensuring the integrity and security of our data assets.
Your key responsibilities
Business Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements translating them into technical specifications for database solutions.
Database Development: Design develop test implement and maintain stored procedures functions and triggers in SQL Server to meet business needs and enhance operational efficiency.
Performance Optimization: Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures to improve database performance and responsiveness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including application developers data analysts and project managers to ensure seamless integration of database solutions.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences and ensure optimal performance.
Data Security and Integrity: Implement best practices for data management to ensure the security integrity and availability of data within the SQL Server environment.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs processes and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance with organizational standards.
Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to end-users and development teams fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Skills and attributes for success
Communication is essential must be able to listen and understand the question and develop and deliver clear insights in both verbal and written with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Independent and able to manage and prioritize workload.
Ability to adapt quickly and positively to change.
This position will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
You will also be a part of larger team (incl. client-side stakeholders) so communication and collaboration skills will also help you to succeed.
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelors degree in information systems Computer Science Engineering or other related;
Minimum of 6 years of experience in SQL Server database development and administration;
Strong proficiency in SQL programming including the creation and maintenance of stored procedures functions and triggers;
Proven experience in database performance optimization and troubleshooting techniques;
Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration processes;
Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken). A good level of another foreign language would be an asset.
Ideally youll also have
Relevant certifications in SQL Server (e.g. MCSA MCSE) are a plus;
Experience with master / reference data are a plus;
Experience in SSIS SSAS Power BI
