Dunedin Hospital
$132397- $142182 p.a pro-rata Kiwisaver
- Permanent Part Time Position Available (24 hours per week)

About the Role
A rare opportunity has become available for two permanent Midwife Managers to join our Maternity Team at Dunedin Hospital on a permament fulltime or part time basis (we are flexible with what hours you want to work!) the tertiary hospital of Health New Zealand Southern. Here you will make a meaningfully contribution to our Kaupapa of providing a safe and positive childbearing experience to all expectant pregnant people in our region.
As the Midwife Manager you will lead and support the Dunedin Hospital Maternity Unit (named Queen Mary) providing clinical and operational leadership to ensure the service is responsive to the changing needs of our community and health system.

About you
Alongside your strong leadership skills and extensive midwifery experience our ideal candidatewill also be an excellent communicator withproven clinical credibility in all aspects of midwifery care and be able to demonstrate ability to lead from the front with diverse groups of people or complex cases.
Some of the skills we are looking for are:
- It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Midwife and hold a current annual practicing certificate.
- Possess the ability to think outside the square communicate effectively and promote best practice and standards of midwifery care
- Tertiary operational management experience
- Demonstrate sound professional judgement
- Have relevant knowledge of patient safety and resource management including budgeting equipment and staff management
- Demonstrate clinical quality safety and best practice.
- Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Confidence with te ao Mori tikanga and te reo Mori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Hold a relevant post-graduate qualification
