Job Description
Seeking a nurturing compassionate childcare provider with experience working with children who have challenging behaviors and diverse learning needs preferred. This individual will support Early Learning Academy staff in assisting students with disabilities diverse learning needs challenging behaviors and other special needs including safety and personal care needs. They will facilitate total inclusion in the daily curriculum and execution of classroom activities. This position offers an hourly rate of $21 and medical vision dental paid time off 401K and other voluntary benefits. The schedule for this position is from 8 am - 4:30 pm.
Position Highlights
1. Assists the teaching team in maintaining a classroom environment that includes positive guidance techniques that meet state and local licensing regulations and Head Start performance standards.
2. Ensures the execution of individualized Implementation and Interim Plans and implements Conscious Discipline curriculum supports.
3. Assists the teaching team in implementing Conscious Discipline curriculum supports.
4. Completes monthly progress reports for each student with Implementation and Interim Plan.
5. Collaborates with the teaching team to implement Implementation and Interim plans and other identified needs related to special needs development.
6. Gathers documentation to make referrals to Early Intervention or the Local Education Authority (Chicago Public Schools) for children with suspected disabilities. Follow-up to support families through the referral process. Help ensure that children are receiving needed services.
7. Performs other adhoc duties as directed by the Disabilites and Wellness Promotion Manager.
