What youll do

Position Title:SAP iXp Intern Platform Engineering

Location: Vancouver BC

Expected Start Date: September 2025

Contract Duration: 8 months

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

As a Platform Engineering Intern on the BDC Application Platform team you will contribute to building and enhancing an internal developer platform that enables product teams to deliver software faster more securely and with greater reliability. You will work on projects involving Kubernetes-based infrastructure automation tooling and developer experience improvements.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing features and improvements for our internal platform services.
• Enhancing automation pipelines to simplify onboarding and deployment workflows.
• Implementing monitoring alerting and self-service capabilities to improve platform usability.
• Collaborating with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance.
• Contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing to improve team efficiency.

Business Impact:

• This role is critical to SAPs internal developer productivity and operational efficiency. The solutions you build will:

  • Increase automation coverage minimizing manual processes.

What you bring

Were looking for someone who takes initiative perseveres and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Education: Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp apprenticeship associate bachelors masters or JD/PhD program.

Position Requirements:

• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts.
• Familiarity with Linux command-line tools.
• Interest in platform engineering DevOps or infrastructure-as-code.

Desired Skills / Experience:

• Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Go Python JavaScript).
• Exposure to Kubernetes or container-based technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins GitHub Actions or similar).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications:

• Necessary: Enrollment in an accredited university program during the internship period
• Desired: Previous experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS GCP Azure) or automation frameworks.

SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 24-35 CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education skills experience scope of the role location etc. as determined through the selection process. Due to the nature of the role which involves global interactions with SAP entities as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
