Description

The Clinical Director plays a crucial role in overseeing the clinical aspects of service delivery ensuring high-quality care for the community or population served. This position combines clinical expertise with leadership and management skills to advance the organizations mission and objectives. The role also includes providing strategic direction ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and collaborating with other leaders to achieve organizational goals. The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring oversight in the areas of: licensing regulations legal and ethical regulations clinical supervision and program quality assurance.

Position Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the clinical department in alignment with the overall organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical services and community care.
  • Develop and implement agency policies and procedures which are relevant to clinical issues.
  • Attends and prepares reports to the Board of Directors as required and advise Board on clinical staff activities on a regular basis.

Clinical Leadership

  • Schedules and conducts multidisciplinary staff meetings.
  • Schedule and conducts peer review committee to monitor the type of care being provided by the Center and to discuss methods for possible improvement among colleagues:
  • Ensure that staff supervision notes multidisciplinary staff notes and peer review notes are written and placed within the clients chart and that and that minutes are kept for each meeting.
  • Maintains adequate staff coverage and approves the use of comp time and PTO for all clinical staff.
  • Ensures supervisor is assigning cases to therapists adequately to meet grant outcomes
  • Coordinates and is responsible for releasing client information in accordance with data privacy laws.
  • Ensures that each client has an individualized program of treatment which may include individual psychotherapy family or marital therapy group psychotherapy or referral to other community agencies.
  • Focuses on program refinement in order to maintain clinical excellence.
  • Ensures grant reporting is done in an efficient and timely manner.

Quality Assurance

  • Establish and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of client care.
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Analyze clinical performance data and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Address issues related to patient outcomes satisfaction and safety.
  • Ensure that all intake and terminations are completed in a timely manner and maintains a schedule of clients for maintenance of records and case files.
  • Monitors clinical staff development needs and implements improvement strategies with the administrators Senior Director of Programs approval.
  • Prepares activity reports to inform management of the status and implementation plans of programs services and quality initiatives.
  • Conducts quarterly reviews of clinical documentation.

Budget Management

  • Manage the clinical department budget ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effective operations.
  • Administers fiscal operations such as planning budgets authorizing expenditures and coordinating financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising the quality of care.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments such as administration finance and human resources to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies community organizations and other mental health providers.
  • Works closely with Clinical Supervisor and program director.

Staff Development

  • Oversee the recruitment training and professional development of clinical staff.
  • In collaboration with Clinical Supervisors conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to support staff growth.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree or Master in Social Work or Counseling Psychology and clinical license required; at least 6 years experience in the social work or counseling field.
  • At least four years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • 40-hour Domestic Violence Training Certificate
  • Familiarity with working with immigrants domestic violence community violence child abuse mental health challenges
  • Strong organizational and effective time management skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills with fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
  • Flexibility and ability to work evening and weekend hours as necessary.
  • Commitment to social justice and sensitivity to the assets and challenges of a diverse group of participants.
