Job Description
At TLE Astoria we believe that healthy meals fuel bright minds. We are a nurturing early childhood center that values fresh balanced meals and a warm family-style dining experience for our little learners.
We are seeking a reliable and caring Cook to join our daycare team. The ideal candidate will enjoy preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Plan prepare and serve daily meals and snacks that meet state childcare nutritional guidelines
- Follow allergy restrictions and dietary needs for individual children
- Maintain a clean safe and sanitary kitchen and food storage area
- Keep accurate records of menus food inventory and meal counts
- Order and organize food supplies as needed
- Support the overall daycare team by ensuring mealtimes are positive and smooth for children
- Assist in classrooms during staff lunch breaks or as needed.
- Support special events or celebrations with food preparation and service.
- Previous experience cooking in a childcare school or food service setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Handlers Certificate is required)
- Ability to follow dietary restrictions and prepare child-friendly meals
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Friendly dependable and team-oriented attitude
