Position Summary:The Central Falls School District seeks to hire a Spanish-English bilingual and biliterate dual languageteacher to join our dual language team. Candidates must possess a valid RESPONSIBILITIES /DUTIES1. Facilitate teaching and learning in a 50/50 dual language instructional model in which studentslearn in English and Spanish in all major academic content areas. Preferred: a track record ofimplementing standards assessment curriculum and instruction aligned with dual languagetheories and pedagogy.2. Demonstrate cultural competency with students families and colleagues. Have a proven trackrecord of using classroom-based culturally sustaining practices to empower students.3. Demonstrate relentless optimism about students abilities to excel. Maintain a positive andengaging learning environment that empowers students to become self-motivated responsibleand resilient learners. Have a proven track record of consistently demonstrating the belief that allindividuals (including yourself) are capable of high levels of learning and growth.4. Commit to working intensively and proactively with team members and participating in a highlycollaborative teaching and learning environment with an unequivocal focus on equity excellenceand empowerment of students.5. Have a proven track record of learning from reflection and responsiveness to feedback fromstudents families peers and supervisors. Evidence of resilience and ability to grow from failureand mistakes.6. Align instruction with the Common Core State Standards and WIDA Frameworks and createmeaningful opportunities for multilingual learners to access content and language learning. Use avariety of data to drive instruction.7. Utilize challenging instructional materials/district curriculum with fidelity.8. Participate in MTSS for dual language to provide evidence-based classroom intervention forstruggling learners. Have a proven track record of strong knowledge of the distinction betweenlanguage development needs and learning disabilities.9. Develop and implement classroom and curricular accommodations and modifications for studentsincluding language development adaptations and adaptations for students with learningchallenges. Demonstrate the belief that all students are capable of thriving in a dual languagesetting.10. Assess progress maintain documentation monitor student learning/progress and report asspecified by the school principal and the district.11. Communicate regularly with families to facilitate two-way discussions about student performanceattendance and progress. Have a proven track record of positive and empowering interactionswith families to support student learning.12. Commit to your own learning to ensure your continued professional growth and renewal andequity excellence and empowerment for students.13. Perform other duties such as deemed necessary by the building administrator and /or Director ofEquity Empowerment and Excellence for English Learners.
