RESEARCH OFFICE

Manager ()

The Research Office (RO)provides central administrative services and performs various roles spanning a broad range of areas including grants and funding schemes research ethics integrity and policy research committee research culture and infrastructure partnership and collaboration at the institutional level. The RO isnow looking for a dynamic and meticulous team member to support the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) and research grant administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support for the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). This includes facilitating internal research review exercises for research outputs impact and environment; assisting in the RAE data collection process; developing and strengthening impactful case studies; planning and organising training sessions and events related to RAE; and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders on RAE-related matters;
  • Support the administration of research grants and funding schemes. Responsibilities include issuing calls for applications vetting and evaluating applications facilitating the submission process and supporting project maintenance and reporting;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies guidelines and processes that will support the generation of excellent research with impactful outcomes;
  • Work on building greater impact developing cases and stories and better promoting research projects and researchers at HKBU including collating and updating information for RAE website/social media producing videos and articles and maintaining good media relationship; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A good bachelors degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in higher education sector or a related field;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • A strong sense of responsibility and an appropriate level of IT literacy and good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude;
  • Proven experience in public relation and in writing editing and publishing in different media format;
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure to meet deadlines; and
  • Good understanding or experience in RAE would be an advantage.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 2 years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and funding availability.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
