SUMMARY: While delivering innovative solutions exceptional service and trusted results the Outreach Specialist conducts community-outreach and customer-engagement activities for TANF customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiate contact with referred customers and encourage them to engage with KRA and participate in mandated work activities. TANF recipients may require repeated attempts at engagement.
- Re-engage customers who were engaged but who subsequently terminated participation.
- Share information about outreach and engagement efforts with Case Managers.
- Inform Case Managers of any barriers identified that routinely prevent the customer from engaging fully with KRA.
- Work independently with a keen sense of focus and boundaries that are task-oriented and non-judgmental.
- Energetic resilient and results-driven; ability to perform and maintain outcomes within a fast-paced environment.
- Work in a variety of settings with diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
- Work with customers in a caring and respectful manner understanding and considering their unique circumstances.
- Work with individuals during times of crisis.
- Travel and conduct site visits at customers homes and employment and work experience sites.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and abilities required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university. The degree requirement may be substituted with four (4) years of professional work experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer literacy required including effective use of the internet e-mail video conferencing (Zoom Teams) and other Microsoft Office Products (Word PowerPoint and Outlook).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk sit talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
