Job Description
The role
The post of CNM 2 has a pivotal role in service planning co-ordinating and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are: Delivery of agreed Key Performance Indicators quality assurance resource management staffing and staff development practice development facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership.
The post holder will work within a strong clinical and management structure providing excellence in care education and encouragement to maximise staff potential development and success. The post holder will be expected to share the values that are important to the Department being excellent kind responsible and respectful and behave in a way that ensures best outcomes for patients. The CNM2 GP Liaison provides support to the CNM3 ED.
The GP Liaison role focuses on promoting clear and relevant communication between the hospital and primary care providers offering a single point of contacts to GPs for
Clinical Queries
Enquiries around patients referred to the Emergency Department.
Accessing reports or results
Post discharge patient follow up
Follow up with patients who did not wait to be seen or left against medical advice.

The person
Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
1. Statutory Registration Professional Qualifications Experience etc
a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
i) Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) or entitled to be so registered.
And
ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality of Emergency Medicine.
And
iii) Have the clinical managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
And
iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
And
v) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
2. Annual Registration
i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann).

ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
