The job tasks encompass a wide range of technical responsibilities. The Onsite Technical System Manager provides for a dedicated technical resource that will facilitate a seamless integration between Motorola Support Resources and Miami Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR). The Onsite Technical System Manager also assists MDFR with planning for future system needs. The Onsite Technical System Manager in addition to supervising FSO Technicians will act as a liaison between MDFR and Motorolas System Support Center to assist in problem resolution. The Onsite Technical System Manager compiles information on system performance and meets regularly with MDFR to review the operation of the system. The ultimate goal of the Onsite Technical System Manager is to ensure MDFRs investment in the communication equipment is utilized to the fullest extent possible. The Onsite Technical System Manager is a dedicated technical resource assigned to MDFR and will have an office at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Headquarters reporting there daily.
Supervise/manage on site Motorola Solutions Technician(s).
Oversee manage and administer the Motorola Astro P25 radio system operations for Miami-Dade County.
Deliver maintenance and support services for Motorolas ASTRO P25 and associated technologies dedicated to ensuring public safety for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR).
Develop system-related monthly reports tailored to customer agreements.
Generate monthly reports on subscriber repairs as per customer specifications.
Initiate monitor and resolve cases efficiently providing customers with regular status updates.
Organize and oversee scheduled preventative maintenance for the P25 radio system.
Schedule and manage site inspections to be completed in a timely manner and provide customer documentation.
Provide assistance on FirstNet PTT Devices and deployable including but not limited to technical administration.
Maintain optimize test document and manage highly technical Motorola communications systems.
Oversee and coordinate minor project tasks.
Plan and execute system upgrades according to schedule.
Track and manage any FSBs (Field Service Bulletins) and advise the customer when applicable.
Promptly raise and monitor significant service problems within Motorola Solutions involving appropriate personnel. Organize meetings and conference calls as required until issues are resolved.
Act as the single point of contact for MDFR regarding all service related issues.
Monitor of MOSCAD.
Monitor the testing of the voting systems including remote site sensitivity verification.
Assist with third party maintenance escorts to radio sites (UPS A/C Tower climber Drone Inspections etc.)
Assist with investigation of weak signal complaints and interference complaints.
Inventory and tracking of all infrastructure equipment (spares out for repair FRUs etc.).
Console programming
Maintain inventory of subscriber code plugs.
Validate programming configuration of subscribers.
Focus on maintaining optimal performance levels across an integrated system while taking a proactive approach to address and mitigate system level alarms and malfunctions.
Manage system availability through routine system maintenance performance monitoring and system wide preventative maintenance.
Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and the documentation of results.
Optimize and support complex communication systems and software applications including advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband systems.
Deliver knowledge of R.F. systems such as transmitters receivers and antenna networks.
Deliver knowledge in standard telephony dedicated data circuits and packet switching techniques.
Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.
Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance upgrades or support issues.
Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
Team with Engineering Project Management Customer Service and Sales personnel to effectively maintain optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations.
Preferred Skills:
Candidates must be familiar with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques for current model digital and analog Motorola communications equipment and system architectures.
Experience as a Radio Administrator/System Manager with expertise in P25 Systems ASTRO 25 LMR RF systems wired/wireless communication systems networking equipment IT networks and subscriber equipment.
Highly knowledgeable in wired/wireless communications systems including local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding and awareness of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Proficient in MS Word Excel Outlook and Access demonstrating strong computer literacy.
Possesses exceptional self-management and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with customers subcontractor partners and various teams within Motorola Solutions.
Self-motivated and capable of performing duties independently without direct supervision.
Skilled in quickly resolving customer problems even in stressful situations.
Familiarity with configuring and testing base stations repeaters routers switches and MPLS networks.
Proficient in installing configuring and maintaining computer networks including cabling routers switches firewalls and bridges.
Ability to develop and deliver technical training.
Provides guidance on integrating new tools and solutions into team operations.
Proven experience utilizing equipment commonly used for optimizing and testing Motorola communications systems such as Communications Systems Analyzers Power Sensors and Watt Meters TIMS sets CPS CSS Antenna Systems Analyzers (FDRs).
Skilled in configuring and testing Motorola two-way radio and subscriber products.
Experience working with logging recording systems RF interfaces wired/wireless communications systems 911 applications and networking equipment.
Candidate Requirements:
The Onsite Technical System Manager MUST live a commutable distance to the Miami Dade County area.
Must be willing to travel 25% of the time and live within 50 miles from the coverage area.
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer(s).
Must have a current valid drivers license and no traffic violations.
Ability to be on-call 24/7/365
FCC license and industry certifications such as ETA are a plus.
CET certifications through CompTIA Network and/or Security are highly desirable.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justices Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $80000 - $110000 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge skills and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
3 years experience in one of the following: LMR RF Systems Radio Communications Radio Frequency Wired/Wireless Communication Systems Military Motorola equipment IT Systems Telecommunications Public Safety Engineering or Networking equipment.
