Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Childrens Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist to support the Divisions clinical and academic activities. This position is open rank variable track 1.0 FTE academic appointment that will be commensurate with candidates experience. North Carolina Childrens Hospital is a top-tier academic medical center with a mission to align clinical care advocacy research and education to deliver world-class family-centered care. The Hospital is ranked among the best childrens hospitals by US News and World Report and the Division is accredited by the American Diabetes Association. The faculty member will report directly to the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and will join a well-established team of medical professionals including board-certified pediatric endocrinologists nurse practitioner clinical pharmacist pediatric endocrinology fellows and pediatric residents Certified Diabetes Educators nutritionists and nurses who work together to provide the best care to the patients of UNC Childrens Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes services. Clinical duties will include inpatient and outpatient care of children with diabetes and other endocrine disorders. Outpatient clinical activities will occur at the UNC Childrens Specialty clinics located in Chapel Hill NC and Raleigh NC along with for regional care at our UNC Health Childrens clinic in Wilmington NC. Involvement in scholarly activity including quality improvement clinical research and/or medical education is also expected.
