Are you an experienced software engineer with a passion for driving innovation and shaping the future of technology
As a C Mobile Software Engineer within our Survey and Mapping division youll be a pivotal member of the Trimble Access development and modernization team. We are a global team and in this role youll be based in our Christchurch office collaborating closely with colleagues both locally and across Trimbles international facilities. Our team is responsible for an application encompassing GNSS & Optical positioning data management geometry 3D visualization cloud connectivity radio communications and market-specific workflows.
You will leverage your deep technical expertise especially in C and cross-platform development (Windows and Android) to drive significant new features and modernize key components of the Trimble Access mobile platform. Youll be involved in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from initial design to implementation and maintenance.
Some of your core responsibilities will include:
Contributing to the modernization of Trimble Access components and infrastructure ensuring the platform remains cutting-edge.
Proactively identifying and solving complex technical challenges often working independently.
Collaborating with product managers application specialists and other software engineers to develop and improve our products.
Mentoring less experienced colleagues and acting as a technical go-to person.
Applying best practices and company policies to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Were looking for someone who thrives on technical challenges and has a proven track record of delivering high-quality software. The most successful candidates will possess:
Extensive experience in software development with a strong focus on C and cross-platform development (Windows and Android).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to take new perspectives on existing solutions.
A robust architectural understanding of complex software systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead small projects or mentor less experienced team members.
Experience in the geospatial survey domain or with data collection software is highly desirable.
