The CBC Gem social team is looking for a self-starting energetic Program Assistant to help with the daily production of and management of social content.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills attention to detail and an interest in CBCs entertainment titles.
Under the guidance of the Senior Producer of the CBC Gem Social team the program assistant will help manage a large amount of information and assets as well as be assigned to support digital content creation across a range of online platforms.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Sourcing reviewing and organizing asset deliverables from original and acquired productions (including but not limited to: caption files photography scripts);
Sourcing broadcast masters or other relevant video content as needed;
Maintaining various aspects of the cloud collaboration service used by the CBC Gem social team;
Maintaining the CBC Gem social teams shared cloud drives;
Repackaging CBC Gem social content for new platforms e.g. editing thumbnails loglines or titles;
Uploading content to CBCs content-management system;
Asset review and management for external stakeholders;
Database and/or tracker creation and management;
Working with cross-platform content teams to facilitate collaboration opportunities;
Coordinating calendar reviews and sharing of relevant plans with stakeholders;
Ensuring content is accessible for CBC social media audiences;
Assisting with the creation and customization of graphics and templates for social media;
Assisting with the logistics of internal and external shoots;
Screening content under the guidance of producers and providing requested timecodes;
As required providing general administrative support to the CBC Gem social team.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Recent graduation from university or community college (or equivalent);
Experience related to streaming services social media or in a relevant field is an asset;
Active and skilled in the creation of social content on multiple platforms primarily TikTok Meta and YouTube;
Familiarity with the Adobe suite of products (primarily Premiere Pro and Photoshop);
Innovative flexible with demonstrated initiative.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills along with the ability to work under deadlines and with multiple priorities;
Keen interest in and an ability to keep pace and adapt to the evolving trends in social and digital media;
Knowledge of and affinity for CBC programming and understanding of the media industry;
The ability to contribute to the diversity of perspectives on the team with ideas that will help connect with and grow new audiences;
Strong knowledge and understanding of and/or connection to underrepresented communities across Canada.
