You will set up and weld high temperature alloys in the repair and repair development of turbine engine component; using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) in full compliance to repair manual requirements. You will need to perform simple to complex welding. The job requires candidate to consistently sit and pass periodic welders proficiency test by the companys internally and external CAAS test.

For more than 40 years our advanced facilities in Singapore have led aerospace innovation across Asia Pacific. From automating processes to leveraging smart factory technologies robotics and additive manufacturing GE Aerospace is shaping the future of aviation at GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS).

GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview:

  • Apply necessary gas back-up and chilled bars as required to perform efficient weld repair

  • Perform manual and laser weld of all products with different weld configurations

  • Identify and replace basic fixture/tooling due to wear and tear

  • Simple refining of welding parameters

  • Perform scheduled maintenance & housekeeping tasks

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum GCE O level with 3 years of relevant experience in TIG Welding

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum GCE O level with 3 years of relevant experience

  • Preferably NITEC/Higher NITEC in welding

  • Relevant TIG certificates; or

  • Preferably CAAS approval in TIG Welding/General Welding or equivalent

  • Able to read and understand the manufacturing operation sheets and standard operation procedures in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of measuring instrument TIG Welding

  • Must be able to fully comprehend process parameters and consistently produce good quality parts

  • Ability to read & understand technical drawings/instructions

  • A team player
