Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and commercially driven Managing Director to lead our operations in Malaysia. This role is central to driving the growth innovation and profitability of our business across the country. As the senior representative of the company in Malaysia you will ensure our brand continues to lead in the evolving Malaysian OOH media landscape. This role reports directly to the regional CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Development and stewardship of the annual business plan in consultation with Regional CEO Global CEO and Finance Team.

  • Responsibility for senior level client & supplier commercial relationships.

  • Collaboration with Commercial & Investment Team ensuring media income optimization

  • Heading wider company initiatives including pitches social events town halls etc.

  • Attendance at relevant client / partner / industry events (may require local / international travel)

  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Sales & Client Management

  • Promoting OOH and billups offering to clients and agencies being a senior escalation point for servicing across all clients with overall responsibility for ensuring requests and expectations are managed proactively and that our strategic and executional delivery against KPIs exceeds expectations.

  • Ensuring a thorough understanding of all clients strategies and objectives and the KPIs billups must deliver for them.

  • Nurturing strong long-term relationships with senior agency client and media vendor contacts building trust and collaboration. Driving day-to-day and senior relationship development across the Client Team with relationship mapping in place.

  • Developing and converting new business opportunities. Establishing target plans against key accounts and categories. Identifying securing and executing meetings with prospects and leads collaborating closely with the Client Development function in doing so.

  • Overall responsibility for the resolution of all client issues or discrepancies drawing upon wider internal and external support as needed. Coaching the Client Team in resolving issues.

  • Ensure high client satisfaction retention and revenue growth across all customer segments.

Team Leadership

  • Foster a performance-driven culture with strong values of integrity innovation and accountability.

  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Client team to ensure they are effectively servicing clients and are proactively contributing to growing client and agency business.

  • Delivering operational excellence as an individual and across the Client Team ensuring adoption of appropriate billups platforms tools data templates and guidelines.

  • Overseeing collaborative efforts across all billups functions: driving and facilitating access to wider billups centralized resources within existing or new conversations.

  • Overall supervisory responsibilities including: (i) interviewing hiring and training high-performing talent (ii) planning assigning and directing work (iii) appraising performance (iv) rewarding and disciplining employees and (v) addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Grow and evolve team structure lead succession planning and talent development to future-proof the business.

Financial Management & Compliance

  • Accountability (alongside the Regional CEO) for annual budget (P&L) delivery working closely with the Finance Team to maintain tracking optimization and oversight.

  • Overall responsibility for the compilation of accurate updated business planning and forecasting as inputs to monthly and annual financial reporting and tracking.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years experience ideally in a marketing advertising or media business with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or general management role.

  • An expansive knowledge of the Malaysia advertising & media landscape especially OOH & DOOH demonstrating own opinion on trends and business insights.

  • Excellent communication negotiation and strategic thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated track record of commercial success including P&L ownership revenue growth and team leadership.

  • Experience working with clients and media agencies is desired.

  • Ability to work across cultures and manage relationships with international stakeholders.

  • The desire to grow yourself Client Team members and billups business.
