Currently offering a Sign-on Bonus of $15000!!

The Mammography Tech arranges patients for Mammography examinations. Produces Mammography images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols and screenings for of all patients. Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Able to evaluate competency level of others as preceptor. Reports to Supervisor or Manager.



Responsibilities
  1. Patient Care: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
    1. Patients are correctly identified along with their files ensuring a high degree of accuracy as evidenced by the lack of mislabeled studies.
    2. Patients are tracked according to department procedures and technologist can Identify errors and takes immediate action for corrections as evidenced by the RIS reports.
    3. Effectively communicates with patient to obtain clinical history/informed consent from the patient or patients chart to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination as evidenced by the exam results.
    4. The procedure is appropriately explained to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation as evidenced by lack of complaints.
    5. Clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams are recognized and appropriate action taken to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome as evidenced by exam results and patient satisfaction.
    6. The technologist reports documents and corrects any adverse unsafe or unusual conditions as evidenced by the patient/employee incidence reports.
    7. Patient Navigator
  2. Radiation Safety: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
    1. Effective use of radiation protection with appropriate dose control and protective shielding is demonstrated as evidenced by incidence reports.
    2. Exposure reading is maintained within the ALARA limits as evidenced by monthly radiation exposure reports
    3. The ability to modify technical factors and algorithms that will effectively control the radiation dose the patient receives according to ACR guidelines is demonstrated as evidenced by meeting ACR standards and Radiologists satisfaction.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
    1. An orderly safe and clean environment is maintained rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and has required supplies readily available for procedures as evidenced by lack of complaints.
    2. Imaging and other related equipment is operated according to manufacturers specifications and performs daily calibration and adjustments as required and evidenced by exam results.
    3. Equipment is troubleshot effectively and reports equipment problems immediately to biomedical engineering/vendor as evidenced by service reports.
    4. MQSA Inspections
    5. QC on all equipment
  4. Other duties as assigned: This will have been satisfactorily performed when
    1. Acts as a backup for other technologists in the department as needed.
    2. Additional duties are correctly and appropriately completed within the specified time frame as required by managers/supervisors.
    3. Keeping up with ACR
    4. Consistently performs 12 organizational Service Standards focused on Values Service and Quality.


Qualifications
  • Experience: 2 years
  • Education: Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
  • License & Cert: Current State License American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) (M) or Registry Eligible
  • Basic Life Support BLS - HCP
