Job Description

HKUMed is now seeking exceptional candidates in the following disciplines to join its ranks:

Anaesthesiology/ Cancer Medicine/ Clinical Oncology/ Community Medicine/ Critical Care Medicine/ Diagnostic Radiology/Emergency Medicine/ Family Medicine and Primary Care/ HKU Health System/ Medical Oncology/ Medicine/ Microbiology/Obstetrics and Gynaecology/ Ophthalmology/ Orthopaedics and Traumatology/ Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine/ Pathology/ Psychiatry/ Surgery

Applications are invited for appointments asNon-Tenure Track Clinical Associate Professor of Practice/ Clinical Assistant Professor of Practice (several posts)in the LKS Faculty of Medicine(Ref.: 532274) to commence as soon as possible on a three- to four-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. Fractional appointments may be considered for the suitable candidates.

Applicants should possess a specialist registration with the Medical Council of Hong Kong (or be eligible to apply to the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine for the Certification of Specialist Registration). They should have achieved national/regional recognition for professional expertise in addition to a good and sustained record of success in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Clinical services;
  2. Teaching and learning;
  3. Knowledge exchange and services; and
  4. Research (basic science translational and/or clinical research).

Preference will be given to those with demonstrated administrative contributions and management experience in universities or healthcare settings.

Appointees shall be mapped to the relevant departments with a strategic role to play in growing the clinical services. They shall also focus on the education of medical students with support to academic research.

Those with less qualifications and experience may be considered for appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor of Practice. There will be opportunities for academic growth career development and mentorship depending on the appointees interests and accomplishments.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidates. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
